That I Would
Cameron Morse
That I would remember moving in here
time would bear witness
I am still here, have weathered
and written seasons out-
lasted, & ousted
neighbors. That time
would testify, a time I myself
have stood the test of. My age among
momentary Earth’s going not yet
completely sideways
into the anthill, the tumor hidden
in me its talisman. Boy,
to ring out is about all there is to it,
as gunshot, shout.
About the Author
Cameron Morse (he, him) is senior reviews editor at Harbor Review and the author of eight collections of poetry. His first collection, Fall Risk, won Glass Lyre Press’s 2018 Best Book Award. His book of unrhymed sonnets, Sonnetizer, is forthcoming from Kelsay Books.
