Bewilderment
Megin Jimenez
They will total
the money I’ve spent
digital receipts
money I’ve wasted
money over time
as the sum of my life
Explosions, shootings
& elections flash-bang
beside tissues and lipstick
in my purse
On the plane
strapped in
we watch movies
as if they were
our imagination
Knowing everything
& nothing
To bear witness
& when?
The people
we think we are,
it’s time to
become them
